App Store

Section: App stores · ios

The App Store usually shows rating, rating volume, and other app-card fields. This page therefore explains the store listing rather than publication activity.

What this page includes

A metric table, worked examples, and short platform-specific notes.

How to read the examples

All numbers are illustrative. They are here to explain the formula, not to describe a specific account.

Which metrics this page shows

Metric Key Type How to read it
Rating ios_ratingValue Value Current average rating shown by the app store.
Ratings ios_ratingCount Count Number of ratings or reviews in the app store.

Example: app-store snapshot

For app stores, dstat does not calculate PPD, ER, or IR. These pages show direct storefront values such as installs, rating, and rating volume.

Inputs

  • Rating: 4.80
  • Ratings: 94 200

Calculation steps

  1. Rating
Store rating is published as a ready-made storefront value
    = 4.80
  2. Ratings
    Direct storefront counter of ratings/reviews
    = 94 200

This is not a calculated engagement metric. It is the app-card snapshot at the moment the data was read.

Platform-specific nuances

  • Key public fields are ios_ratingValue and ios_ratingCount.
  • Unlike Google Play, an exact install counter may be absent as a public numeric field.
  • The rating is not converted into an engagement percentage: it is already a store metric rather than a dstat-derived ratio.
