RedGifs

Section: Video platforms · rg

On the page, RedGifs behaves like a video platform: audience, publication count, total views, and typical video metrics.

What this page includes

A metric table, worked examples, and short platform-specific notes.

How to read the examples

All numbers are illustrative. They are here to explain the formula, not to describe a specific account.

Which metrics this page shows

Metric Key Type How to read it
Followers rg_followers Count A direct count without extra recalculation.
Posts rg_posts Count A direct count without extra recalculation.
Views rg_VVCount Count Raw RedGifs view/play counter without additional recalculation.
Publication rate rg_ppd Posting rate How many publications come out per day on average within the selected period.
VR (median) VR_median Percent Typical VR across publications.
Like rate (median) LR_median Percent Typical LR across publications.

Example: cadence and median calculation

For video platforms, posting frequency and typical per-video metrics are usually the most important. Below is a sample calculation.

Inputs

  • Period: 28 days
  • Videos: 21

Calculation steps

  1. Publication rate
    21 / 28
    = 0.75 videos/day
  2. VR (median)
    median([18, 24, 27.50, 31.20, 40.80])
    = 27.50%
  3. Like rate (median)
    median([1.90, 2.20, 2.60, 3, 3.70])
    = 2.60%
  4. Total views of the set
Sum of views across all videos included in the analysis
    = 910 000 views

If there are no valid values for a median, dstat returns an empty field rather than a fake 0%.

Platform-specific nuances

  • rg_followers, rg_posts, and rg_VVCount are best read as scale indicators.
  • rg_ppd describes publishing frequency, while video medians show relative content quality.
  • When comparing against YouTube or Rutube, do not mix platform-specific counters if view semantics differ.
