Section: Social platforms and channels · tg

Telegram combines core view-based metrics with additional reaction indicators. They work best as extra context around the main channel metrics.

What this page includes

A metric table, worked examples, and short platform-specific notes.

How to read the examples

All numbers are illustrative. They are here to explain the formula, not to describe a specific account.

Which metrics this page shows

Metric Key Type How to read it
TG subs tg_count Count A direct count without extra recalculation.
Publication rate tg_ppd Posting rate How many publications come out per day on average within the selected period.
TG VR (median) tg_VR_median_p Percent One of the public metrics the site shows for this platform.
IR (by views) tg_interaction_rate_by_views Percent Share of all reactions relative to views: (likes + comments + shares) / views * 100.
TG median views tg_Med_views Count Typical number of views per publication.
Telegram positive reactions share tg_reactions_positive_share Percent Share of positive reactions among the reactions the source was able to classify.

Example: PPD and rate-pair calculation

A sample scenario. The numbers below are only meant to show the formula and the order of calculation.

Inputs

  • Period: 28 days
  • Publications: 18
  • Audience: 95 000

Calculation steps

  1. Publication rate
    18 / 28
    = 0.64 posts/day
  2. Actions sum
    14 500 + 620 + 480
    = 15 600 actions
  3. LR (by views)
    14 500 / 310 000 * 100
    = 4.68%
  4. IR (by views)
    15 600 / 310 000 * 100
    = 5.03%
  5. LR (by followers)
    14 500 / 95 000 * 100
    = 15.26%
  6. ER (by followers)
    15 600 / 95 000 * 100
    = 16.42%

If views or audience data are missing, these metrics stay empty.

Example: median calculation

A median shows the typical value per publication. If the data is missing, dstat leaves the field empty instead of inventing a zero.

  • Value set: 9000, 12000, 15000, 21000, 33000
  1. TG median views
    median([9000, 12000, 15000, 21000, 33000])
    = 15000

If there are no valid values, the page shows an empty field rather than an artificial zero.

Platform-specific nuances

  • The main fields on the page are usually tg_ppd, tg_interaction_rate_by_views, and tg_Med_views.
  • tg_Med_views is best read as the typical number of views per publication.
  • Reaction metrics are useful as supporting context and are best read next to the main channel metrics.
